Vego’s 17-inch 9-in-1 is our ecosystem pick, not a hands-on test winner. The current kit publishes 0.6 mm coated-steel panels, nine configurations, 72 hardware sets, an included hand wrench, and an assembly estimate of about 40 minutes. Its current written garden-bed warranty is two years; the separate 20+ year service-life language remains a manufacturer claim.

What the current kit includes

The official 17-inch 9-in-1 page lists nine layouts, 72 sets of bolts/washers/nuts, safety edging, and a hand wrench. It estimates about 40 minutes to assemble. That makes the kit configurable, but not tool-free: each panel joint still has to be aligned and fastened.

The 0.6 mm figure is a manufacturer specification. It is useful for comparison, but thickness alone does not establish stiffness or service life; corrugation, panel span, bracing, fastener tension, coating damage, soil chemistry, and installation all matter.

Warranty versus service-life marketing

Vego markets a 20+ year service-life statement on the product page. The current written US garden-bed warranty checked for this review is two years. Those are different things:

A nominal 4×8-foot footprint filled to 17 inches is about 45 cubic feet before headspace or settling. Use the soil calculator with actual inside dimensions. Choosing a tall bed to reduce bending can be sensible; choosing it because “deeper always means more yield” is not supported.
