Broad enough to be honest. Detailed enough to prevent a box-price mistake.
The calculator starts with the kit price you enter. It then applies transparent, intentionally broad scenario allowances to the footprint for foundation and labor, plus fixed ranges for freight, climate equipment, and the interior. These are planning bands—not scraped quotes or promises of local pricing.
Bed capacity assumes one center aisle, an approximately one-foot service margin along the length, and side beds that remain reachable from the aisle. Exact usable dimensions can be smaller because of frame braces, doors, vents, gutters, and sloped walls.

What greenhouse size is best for raised beds?
Start with the outside width needed for two reachable beds plus a usable center aisle. An 8-foot-wide greenhouse can fit two narrow side beds around a roughly 3-foot aisle, while a 10- or 12-foot width gives more flexibility for wider beds, benches, and access. Check exact inside dimensions and frame intrusions before ordering.
How much does a greenhouse kit cost after installation?
The installed total can be materially higher than the box price because foundation, freight, assembly, ventilation, climate equipment, interior beds, water, power, and permits may be separate. This planner keeps those allowances visible instead of presenting one false-precision average.
Does a greenhouse need a foundation?
It needs the level base and anchoring system required by the exact manufacturer manual and local conditions. A supplied base rail is not always a completed foundation. Wind and snow ratings may depend on correct anchoring and assembly.
Is this calculator a contractor quote or structural check?
No. It is an early-stage space and budget planner. It does not verify local code, soil, frost depth, wind exposure, snow load, electrical work, permits, engineering, freight access, or the exact model manual.
